Forza Azzurri
Italian soccer fans, nicknamed Azzurri for their blue jerseys, lined the streets of Toronto's Little Italy to watch the final game against England for the European Cup. College Street erupted when Italy won in the penalty shootout. The chant "Forza Azzurri" rang in the streets. For the first time after a year and a half long pandemic, people embraced one another, danced with strangers and cheered. This was not just celebration for a long awaited title: it was a celebration of life.
